
IBEC Consultant strengthens Australian business working in Thailand
Director of Consulting Services, Ken Leahy just returned from Australia where he devoted seven days to Moselle Clothing, Inc., an Australian company that markets clothing made by women rescued from trafficking in Thailand. Mr. Leahy's recommendations (which will be carried out over a 14-month period) will position the company to be a viable commercial enterprise. The business model was updated, a five-year financial plan was projected, and further partnerships developed in the Brisbane area.
Training and Consulting Services for 10 companies in Nepal
Mr Leahy also reported on a week long trip to Nepal where he focused on developing the business strategy for TOP OF THE WORLD COFFEE, explored client opportunities with other existing companies, and conducted seminars on Decision Making and Relationship Marketing. The business milieu in Nepal demonstrates the value of partnering as critical to IBEC Ventures modus operandi.
Photojournalist visits two IBEC projects in Bali, Indonesia
Oregon photojournalist, David Uttley joined IBEC Director of Partnerships in Indonesia, Larry Sharp to tell the story of two businesses there, CoRe Solutions (www.crcindo.org) and Nusa Dua Boatworks, Inc. (www.nusaduaboatworks.com). Soon the journey, challenges and successes of these two companies will be documented. Both owners credited IBEC Solutions consultants for much of their success. CoRe Solutions focuses on pure water in the highlands of Bali while Nusa Dua is a boat builder in the water front area of this famous tourist spot.
IBEC sends delegate to Gujarat, India Summit
The northwest state of Gujarat is is becoming a global business hub of India. This year IBEC was represented at the Vibrant Guajarat Summit 2011 by Ken Leahy, Director of Consulting Services who used the opportunity to develop relationships and explore opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors. IBEC is a consulting partner in three businesses in the state.

IBEC Credited with Value Added Service Abroad
IBEC Ventures brings skills, process and tools to help create and seize opportunities in developing countries. Sometimes these business opportunities emerge through the international community and sometimes directly with national entrepreneurs.
One of the emerging businesses benefiting from IBEC consulting is Top of the World Coffee in Nepal ( www.topoftheworldcoffee.com). The recent Top of the World Coffee progress report reported the fabrication of "the first coffee roaster that was ever fabricated in-country." IBEC consultants are helping build the company and recently also connected the owner with a business partner who hopes to join them later in the year.
In the country of Kazahkstan, a young entrepreneur received some land as part of a political settlement. His dream: a cattle feed lot for marketing beef to the major city in the country. IBEC has just worked with him to complete a successful pilot project for beef production which included capital projection and coaching from a Colorado businessman with a career of experience in feed lot management.
US Passageway up and Running
IBEC Ventures Director of Consulting Services, Ken Leahy reports that US Passageway has incorporated in the USA as an LLC company with the goal of serving Asian students who desire to study abroad, particularly in the United States. Market studies indicate a high demand for such a business which will focus on students studying outside their home country in Asia. The business will provide help with university selection, exam taking, visa application, travel arrangements and housing needs while abroad.
Owners Daniel and Paige Stanton give high marks to IBEC Ventures as the consultants for their business, particularly Mr. Leahy and Director of Product Development, Lisa Stults. IBEC Ventures launches new initiatives
With increasing evidence that IBEC Ventures has discovered an important niche in the consulting market, the board of directors has initiated a client development strategy and a fund development strategy. Both are designed to propel growth through an increasing number of clients in the overseas arena, as well as consultants to service the need. The goal is to engage ten new consultant opportunities by April 2011.
IBEC funding comes from three sources: retainer fees, "fee for service" income, and donations. IBEC Ventures is a 501/c/3 corporation committed to addressing economic development needs of developing countries by creating values-driven sustainable businesses through business training, consulting and leadership.
IBEC Consultant Serves an Indonesian Water Company
IBEC Consultant, Rick Hamm just returned from Indonesia where he spent a week consulting with Community Restoration Indonesia, a company providing pure water to residents of Bali and eastern Java (see www.crcindo.org). Owner George Engle reports "we are so appreciative of Rick and his willingness to make the trip out here and serve us in such a professional way. We have made some huge progress on two different business ideas...I cannot tell you how practical and strategic this is."
Says Mr. Hamm, "I am working with them on a business model that will link the water tank business and the water filter business in a total clean water package that involves some creative thinking about who are the customers for this combined business." The business includes a chemist, a pharmaceutical engineer, a bookkeeper, and an Indonesian partner.

From Sales and Studies to CEO ( An example of business mentoring)
Clint and Val came to IBEC with training in intercultural studies and a year experience living in a large Asian country. Val is an administrator and Clint has sales experiences working for a young company in the northeast. They came with a vision to start a tour company in India.
But how does a keen couple like this translate their life experience to date, with the realities of owning and operating a business in the overseas marketplace? Is there any chance of success?
IBEC Director of Consulting services, does not just coordinate his consultants, but he is also a master at mentoring young entrepreneurs. He has just completed a several week intensive process to prepare Clint and Val to do business in India and do it with honor and integrity, with a goal of profitability, sustainability and job creation.
Ken, along with fellow consultant Lisa Stults helped them with product development, the development of a business plan, financial projections, registering the corporate identity for “Meet Me in India”. He has them linked up with accountants and a marketing plan is in process.
